Hawaiian fish pond
The ancient Hawaiians built this fish pond at Kalaoa in North Kona. Most tourist never see this beautiful place off by it's self down a nonassuming dirt road. The wall dividing the fish pond from the ocean is currently being refurbished using the Hawaiian traditional dry stack method. The project has been going on for 13 years by only a couple of men. These ponds are historically significant and are considered sacred. The locals know not to disturb them and ask all to respect the Aina (land) and help to preserve these areas for future generations. This painting is 11 x 14 Acrylic on canvas... Call 808-987-0735. $500.
